Apology by Church of England goes unheard by Darwin

In a bold move by the Church of England, Reverend Dr. Malcolm Brown, the Church’s director of mission and public affairs says that Christians, in their response to Darwin’s theory of natural selection, repeated the mistakes they made in doubting Galileo’s astronomy of the 17th century.

The Church will issue the following statement, “200 years from your birth, the Church of England owes you an apology for misunderstanding you and, by getting our first reaction wrong, encouraging other to misunderstand you still.  We try to practice the old virtues of ‘faith seeking understanding’ and hope that makes some amends”.

Although an important step by the Church of England toward enlightenment, Darwin who is currently languishing in a fiery Hell for proposing the as yet to be proven Theory of Natural Selection  was unable to hear the apology.
